By covering the suppression of truth following the assassination attempt, the film shows that ‘The Assassin(s)’ referred to in its title do not just refer to the man who fired the gun and his mysterious accomplice.
It’s a film that successfully brings you into their headspace, and the injustice you see effectively inspires anger.
Ha-Chan, Shake Your Booty! is a delightfully absurd and honest look at what it means to pick up the pieces after all has been stripped away.
It spends an excessive amount of time driving home its point in a way that seems to beg the audience to have an emotional revelation. Unfortunately, I did not.
After two episodes, I’m impressed.
The film is not about someone who slips through the cracks. Instead, it gets us invested in characters who have their basic material and mental health needs met.
