Grey Lady: Mystery and Romance in Nantucket

June 27, 2017 by Jacob Sahms Leave a Comment

In Grey Lady, TV veteran Eric Dane (The Last Ship, Grey’s Anatomy) teams with Natalie Zea (Justified, The Following) in a murder mystery mixed with romance and psychological drama. Written, directed, and produced by John Shea, who also founded the Nantucket Film Festival, the film’s moody score plays against the backdrop of the Nantucket seaside (and a bit of Boston as well). For folks seeking an indie murder yarn with a taste of New England, Grey Lady be worth their time.

In Shea’s second directorial outing, Dane’s Boston policeman James Doyle tracks a killer who is tracking him. His obsession with avenging the death of his partner in an ambush leads him to Nantucket, and into the arms of Melissa Reynolds (Zea). But in the atmosphere of The Departed and The Town, the backstories of these Bostonites will matter – and reality couldn’t be farther from the truth.
