DC Legends of Tomorrow – The Complete Third Season: Through Time & Space

Another DC series developed by Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, and Marc Guggenheim, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow centers around a hodgepodge team of heroes who travel through time, solving problems and creating new ones. Firestorm (Victor Garber and Franz Drameh), Atom (Brandon Routh), White Canary (Caity Lotz), and Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) remain consistent from the first season, showing the ability of DC to adapt both known characters and new ones to flesh out a television series. Of the Arrowverse options, this is the funniest – as if the cast and crew are intentionally not taking themselves too seriously.

Like other time-traveling shows,?Legends of Tomorrow?allows for a variety of options in terms of the script – and revisions to what we think we know about the reality of the show’s worldview. Thanks to a time-traveling ship called the Waverider, the Legends will travel to times and places like 49 BC Rome (Julius Caesar), 1870 (P.T. Barnum’s circus), 2042 Los Angeles (A.R.G.U.S. is hunting metahumans), nineteenth century England, Cold War Berlin 1962, and 1800s Wild West.?
While several of the actors involved here have some strong accolades in serious roles, the material here is often playing off their humorous escapades, and the witty banter they have with each other. The special effects – and costumes – are often outrageous, like dinosaurs in downtown LA – but the overall vibe feels like a throwback to old school costumed superheroes, even if they’re really dealing with the future.?

Like the releases of?Arrow, The Flash, and?Supergirl, the Legends of Tomorrow Blu-ray combo pack includes all four episodes included in the crossover to make Crisis on Earth X. The special features also include the Comic-Con Panel from 2017, The Time Calibrators: Legends Assemble, Post Production Theater, gag reel, and unaired scenes.
