Every year you live, your world will become bigger and brighter.
It’s this sense of optimism that flows through the trailer of The Life of Chuck. Though the film is adapted from a story by Stephen King, Chuck feels closer to the joy of The Shawshank Redemption than it does the darkness of his horror epics.
But who is Chuck? This trailer gives very little indication of Chuck’s role in the world. Featuring a child that seems suspiciously like a young Tom Hiddleston, we are left with very little other information. Fire trucks race by with no indication of a destination. Sky-writing thanks Chuck for everything he’s done. But, nothing else in specifics. Even so, there’s a genuine sense here that Chuck matters. Scratch that. There’s a genuine sense that life matters, regardless of small one feels at any given moment.
In fact, it seems as though every moment matters.
Either way, all will be revealed when The Life of Chuck reaches theatres on June 6th, 2025.
