Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

June 7, 2019 by Jacob Sahms Leave a Comment

Based on the six-part miniseries by James Tynion IV and Freddie Williams II, the world of the Turtles collides with Gotham in Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. While we all know that the title is a false front – seriously, two sets of good guys actually battling each other? Only the X-men would do that – because there must be a greater threat.

In this mash-up, which is way more serious than a Scooby-Doo combination, we watch Batman lose to Shredder and then defeat the Turtles. Seriously?? But this is a set-up for us to see that Shredder, Ra’s al Ghul, the Joker, and Penguin are all teamed up together. We’ll watch Batgirl and Robin get on the good side’s action, and by the end of the collision, each of the individual turtles will have had their moment to shine.

Special features include the featurette Cowabunga, Batman! When Comic Worlds Collide showing off the concepts of the crossover, plus the featurette Fight Night in Gotham. There is also a sneak peek of Batman: Hush.

Fun for fans of the different characters, the beauty of this one is showing how disparate characters with different gifts can all join together to accomplish something greater.
