After a strong premiere, Episode 2 had the challenge of proving that the series wasn’t simply relying on a good first impression. Fortunately, it succeeds by expanding on the elements that made the opening episode so enjoyable while beginning to establish a clear direction for the story moving forward.
One of the things I appreciated most about this episode is how it continues to develop the world’s progression system. Fantasy anime often introduce rankings, classes, and abilities without making them particularly interesting, but here they feel like an important part of the story. The series does a great job showing that growth and advancement are meaningful goals rather than simply numbers increasing behind the scenes.
Elymas remains the star of the show. What continues to make him enjoyable to watch is the way he approaches problems. He isn’t the type of protagonist who simply charges forward and overwhelms every obstacle through raw strength. Instead, he relies on preparation, understanding, and strategy. That approach makes even smaller victories feel satisfying because viewers can appreciate the thought process behind them.
The episode also does a nice job expanding the world beyond what we saw in the premiere. New faces are introduced, future adventures begin taking shape, and the series starts laying the groundwork for the journey ahead. While much of the episode focuses on building momentum rather than delivering major story revelations, it never feels slow. There is always a sense that Elymas is moving toward something bigger.

Visually, the show remains one of the strongest fantasy anime currently airing. The animation continues to impress with detailed backgrounds, fluid movement, and excellent action choreography. The production team clearly understands how important presentation is, and the result is a series that feels more polished than many of its competitors.
The camera work once again deserves praise. Whether it’s a simple conversation or a more action-heavy sequence, the direction consistently finds ways to keep scenes visually interesting. It’s one of those details that viewers may not consciously notice at all times, but it contributes significantly to the overall quality of the show.
Another positive is that the episode continues to build anticipation for the future. It introduces ideas and goals that give the series a clear sense of progression, making it easy to become invested in where Elymas’ journey is headed next. By the time the credits rolled, I was already looking forward to seeing how the story develops in future episodes.
After two episodes, the series has established a strong foundation. The world is interesting, the progression system is engaging, the protagonist is easy to root for, and the production values are consistently impressive. While it’s still early, the show has done enough to convince me that it’s worth keeping up with week to week.
