S.W.A.T. – Under Siege: It’s a Firefight

Sometimes, inter-departmental operations don’t work out the way they’ve been diagrammed. In?S.W.A.T.: Under Siege, the ideas behind the Samuel L. Jackson/Colin Farrell vehicle from 2003 have been replaced by an?Assault on Precinct 13?scenario.

Now, Sam Jaeger, primarily of?Parenthood?and?Eli Stone, is front and central as S.W.A.T. agent Travis Hall. When he finds himself responsible for the custody of “Scorpion” (Michael Jai White,?Spawn, Why Did I Get Married?), as an onslaught of bad guys attack in an attempt to keep Scorpion quiet. [Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights, About a Boy, John Wick) gets in on the action, too.]

Produced by Original Films – the company behind?Fast & the Furious?series,?Prison Break,?Preacher, and?XXX – and directed by Toni Giglio (Chaos, Extraction), the film is a “B-level” action flick that serves as a throwback to old school action films. In fact, Giglio said in an interview that his stunt work was the real deal – not CGI – so it has that going for it, too.

If nothing else, this will tide viewers over as they wait for Giglio’s third?Death Race?film – the sequel to Statham’s 2008 all-out thriller.
